The venue is promoted as a live entertainment space and event hall. Official hosting materials say it can accommodate semi-private groups of 50 to 1000 people, so 1000 is the clearest published upper-end event figure available.

History

The Big Four Building was built in 1959 and takes its name from the four Alberta ranchers who financed Guy Weadick’s 1912 Calgary Stampede proposal. The Roadhouse occupies the upper level of that building.

Location

This is an indoor venue inside Stampede Park in central Calgary, alongside other major event spaces. For concert or rave visitors, it functions more like a large multi-use hall than a standalone nightclub.

Accessibility

Official Stampede guidance says Victoria Park Stampede Station is the easiest access point for The Big Four Roadhouse and nearby Stampede Park venues. Driving access is through Stampede Park, with parking managed within the park.

Food and drink

Food and drink are a major part of the venue setup. The official site describes burgers, sandwiches, BBQ, a buzzing bar and drinks, and the building also contains The Range Food Hall below and Bar Nineteen Twelve inside the complex.

Accommodation

There is no on-site hotel information in the official sources. Because the venue sits in central Calgary, staying downtown or in the Beltline is the most practical option for late-night event visitors.
