Capacity
For events, the Main Hall is the largest venue, with capacity for 750 guests. The Arena is suitable for medium-sized events with around 250 guests, whilst the Café can accommodate approximately 150 guests. This makes Neushoorn particularly well-suited to concerts, club nights and small to medium-sized raves and festivals.
History
Neushoorn officially opened in 2016 and has since become Friesland’s leading music venue. The building comprises several auditoriums and additional spaces for music and production.
Location
Neushoorn is situated in the heart of Leeuwarden, on the Ruiterskwartier. The venue is urban and compact, with several venues under one roof and a clear focus on live and club events.
Accessibility
The building is within walking distance of Leeuwarden station, making it convenient for visitors arriving by train. If you’re travelling by car, you can park nearby, for example in the Zaailand or Oldehove car parks.
Food and drink
There are several bars inside, including three in the Main Hall and one in the Café. This is handy for an evening’s entertainment, as it means you can enjoy a drink without having to leave the building.
Accommodation
As Neushoorn is situated in the centre of Leeuwarden, hotels and other accommodation options in the city can easily be combined with a show or evening programme. For events that finish late, staying overnight in or near the city centre is the most practical option.
